As part of your commercial pilot training you must checkout in a "complex aircraft." For many pilots this will be the first time they fly an airplane with more than one nav/com radio.
When an airplane has multiple radios their operation is made much easier through the use of an audio panel that allows the pilot to choose which comm radio to transmit and recieve on as well as to listen to the navigation radios. Audio panels vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer but all are quite similar. The one below is based on the KMA24 from Allied Signal. If your airplane has a different make it will have slight differences. Still it is worth getting to know how to operate this audio panel as it is the most common one used in light aircraft.
