Communications

Using the radio to communicate is often the most intimidating part about learning to fly. Using the radio well is certainly something any professional pilot should strive for. You must learn to listen, and communicate your situation clearly and succinctly to controllers and other traffic. We have collected lots of resources to help you work on your technique.

The best place to beginis with the Restricted Radio Telephone study guide published by Industry Canada.

The British have a much better Radio Telephone Guide. Here is an interactive supplement (with audio files) to the Radio Telephone Guide.

In our text book IFR for Professional Pilots we have an entire section on communications that you should find quite helpful.
